Bucket lists are a subject of much debate in the Elegant Golf Resorts office, as with around 34,000 golf clubs worldwide, our favourite pastime offers an inexhaustible supply of new and varied courses to suit all tastes and pockets.
Most are more than worthy of a game, but we’ve put together our ultimate golf holiday bucket list, as we leave home treasures behind and cross over into continental Europe and beyond to take a look at fabulously designed courses guaranteed to challenge and delight.

A Bespoke Trip to The Masters
Every second week of April, Augusta National opens its gates for The Masters, arguably the most exclusive and eagerly anticipated golfing event of the year. So many iconic moments in golfing history have been captured at The Masters tournament such as Jack Nicklaus famous comeback in 1986, Sir Nick Faldo overcoming Greg Norman’s 6 shot lead going into the final round to claim the Green Jacket in 1996 and perhaps one of golf’s most all-time viewed shots, Tiger Woods’ famous chip-in on the 16th hole in 2005 to claim his 4th Masters title!

Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya
The hard rock golf club at riviera Maya was designed by Robert von Hagge, the 18-hole course has won plenty of awards and is known for being a challenging play. The course is surrounded by beautiful tropical plants and you will see plenty of wildlife when playing. The course is set just a few hundred yards from the white sand beach and the sparkling ocean.
One & Only Royal Mirage
Staying at One & Only Royal Mirage, the closest courses are Emirates Golf and Monty. Though still close enough to play other courses.
Situated close by to the Marina area and close to Jumeirah Beach district. It is a really big resort with 8 restaurants, so you may not even wish to leave the resort except for your golf!
Constance Prince Maurice
Guests at Constance Prince Maurice can choose to play golf at their two championship golf courses – Links Golf Course and Legend Golf Course.
Links Golf Course
Designed by Rodney Wright and Peter Alliss, this 18-hole, par-71 course is laid our across undulating terrain with raised tee-boxes and greens.
Legend Golf Course
The Legend golf course is an 18-hole, par-72 course, designed by South African champion Hugh Baiocchi. With a championship layout, it is set along one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritius, surrounded by water and indigenous forest, and built to USPGA specifications. It is located right next to sister hotel Constance Belle Mare Plage and regularly holds a Seniors Tour event.
Finca Cortesin and Valderrama, Spain
Play the iconic courses of Southern Spain and stay in the legendary luxurious hotel Finca Cortesin. Located in one of the most luxurious and exclusive golf resorts in Europe, this five-star Hotel is located between Sotogrande and Marbella on the road up to the picture-postcard mountain village of Casares.

TPC Sawgrass, Florida, USA
Experience a perfect blend of sun, sand, and golf. The Marriott Sawgrass is aimed at the golf fanatic and is home to what many people call the 5th Major – the TPC Players Championship on the TPC Stadium Course is one of the US’s hardest challenges. The famous 17th hole with its island green is notoriously difficult even for the world’s very best players.
