Superb Location

Situated next to the pretty marina and sandy Guincho beach, and minutes from Cascais town centre, Vila Galé Cascais is in a privileged location for exploring the local area and its many nearby award-winning golf courses. We recommend visiting Boca de Inferno, Marechal Carmona Park and some of the local museums.

Perfectly located for a golfing holiday near Lisbon, Vila Galé is within 30 minutes of some of the best golf courses in Portugal. Three of the closest golf courses are detailed below.

Quinta da Marinha Golf Course

Designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones, this 18-hole par 71 course features numerous sand and water challenges with fabulous views of the Atlantic Ocean and Sintra Mountains. The course has hosted many events and is a terrific test for every calibre of golfer. PGA professionals are also on hand should you require any tuition.

Oitavos Dunes

Designed by Arthur Hills, the 18-hole, par 71 Oitavos Dunes is situated within Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, and boasts astonishing ocean views whilst being exposed to the Atlantic breezes. Golf Magazine ranks Oitavos Dunes as the number one golf course in Portugal. The first few holes have tree and bunker-lined fairways, which then open up to views of Cabo da Roca. This magnificent course hosted the 2006 and 2007 PGA Tour Estoril Open of Portugal – and in 2019 hosted the GolfSixes Cascais, with Ryder Cup players Jamie Donaldson, Stephen Gallacher and Edoardo Molinari amongst those playing in the innovative six-hole event.

Penha Longa Atlantic

In the heart of the Lisbon region, the Penha Longa 27-hole course is ranked in the top 30 courses in Continental Europe. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Junior, this championship challenge and host to the Portuguese Open is thrilling with its gently rolling terrain and magnificent views over the countryside and Sintra Mountains.
