The Junior Suites are 40 square-metres, boasting a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a separate living room with sofa bed, and an open-plan kitchen with microwave, fridge and dishwasher. There is a large terrace outside. Amenities include: complimentary WiFi, air-conditioning, 43” TV, tea and coffee making facilities and minibar.

Surrounded by manicured gardens, trees and indigenous plants, La Cala Spa boasts fabulous, relaxing vistas from its large glass windows. The highlight of the spa has to be the state-of-the-art Hydrotherapy Circuit, with: tepidarium, herbal steam bath, hammam, dry sauna, igloo, Kneipp foot bath, aromatic sensation showers, indoor and outdoor hydro-massage hot tubs and indoor heated swimming pool. Another first-class facility is its Aesthetic Medicine Area, where the doctor conducts treatments such as botox, skin peels and varicose veins removal, without surgery using the most prestigious international products. When you can tear yourself away from the outdoor hot tub overlooking the golf course, the hotel also offers a variety of fitness classes including yoga and aqua toning, and a hairdresser should you fancy a new style or colour to complement your holiday.

La Cala Resort has four restaurants, each unique and serving freshly-prepared meals using local ingredients. La Cala Resort Executive Chef Daniel Garcia Peinado presents a variety of avant-garde techniques to deliver mouth-watering Mediterranean dishes using healthy Extra Virgin Olive Oil as the base, at La Terraza Restaurant. At La Bodega Tapas & Grill diners experience more casual dining, with delicious Andalucian street food and tapas dishes to share. Guests can dine on the al fresco summer terrace and every Saturday enjoy the Flamenco Show. Panoramic Bar & Restaurant is a different affair, serving a delightful selection of international light bites on the stunning patio or cosy interior. And finally, the Clubhouse Restaurant serves casual “fast food” that is distinctly Mediterranean – perfect for golfers on the move and those who wish to watch their friends finish their round on the Campo Asia golf course whilst tucking into a lazy lunch.

Campo America is a par-72 course, presenting golfers with spectacular views to the Sierra de Ojén and Mediterranean Sea. Expect elevated tees, cavernous carries and undulating fairways, which make for a tough test of golf. There are three par 5s at holes 6, 9 and 18, and water hazards on the 9th and 16th holes.

Requiring accuracy and control, Campo Asia has a hillier terrain and tighter fairways than neighbouring Campo America. One of the most spectacular holes on the entire resort is the par 3 at 11, providing panoramic views of the resort, Mijas village and the Mediterranean Sea.

The easiest course of the three, par-71 Campo Europa has generous fairways, flatter terrain and slightly larger greens. However, watch out for bunkers and the Ojen River during play. This course is ideal for beginners or higher handicappers.
