In Summer 2024, Hotel Jardín Tecina will remain closed for the innovation of its facilities. It reopens its doors for a warm welcome on December 6th, 2024. The golf course, Tecina Golf, will remain open.

Located on the tiny but breathtakingly picturesque island of La Gomera, Hotel Jardín Tecina is a distinctive cliff-top secret getaway resort overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Mount Teide in neighbouring Tenerife.

Situated in the picture-perfect fishing village of Playa de Santiago on the south coast, the hotel stands surrounded by more than 70,000 square-metres of verdant gardens and is only a long tee shot away from the majestic ocean-view Tecina Golf Course that overlooks a flawless dove-grey beach. The stunning gardens contain more than 50 different species of plants from all over the world and the hotel blends effortlessly into the setting with its Canarian-style architecture.

The glorious beach is located just 50 metres from the hotel and is accessed by a lift built into the cliff. At the beach, guests have access to the wonderful beach club, Club Laurel. Facilities here include a saltwater pool, chill-out area with Balinese beds, solarium with hammocks and parasols, and a restaurant and pool bar.
Accommodation at Hotel Jardín Tecina is bright and colourful, with each room and suite having its own distinctive colour scheme – from sea blues and grass greens to canary yellows and sunshine oranges. Each room is bordered by paths and gardens which ensure maximum privacy, along with a private balcony or terrace to admire garden, pool or sea views. There is an adults-only area of the hotel, too, where you can access a private swimming pool.

Nestled amongst vegetation and fruit trees, a sweet aroma fills the air as you play golf.

Hotel guests will fly to Tenerife and then take the fast ferry to La Gomera. At the Hotel Jardín Tecina there are five pool areas, 11 restaurants and bars, a spa, golf course, two solariums and lots of sporting activities. Located in an exclusive adults-only part of the hotel, the Duplex Suite is laid-out over three levels. Dining at the Hotel Jardín Tecina is a real treat. The main restaurant serves up delicious buffet dishes and show-cooking, alongside incredible sea views. Gara Restaurant is a fine dining affair using local produce complimented by local wines. For a beachside experience, head to Club Laurel – Trattoria Club Laurel dishes up Italian cuisine in a wood-fired oven and El Laurel Restaurant is renowned for its barbecued meat and fish dishes. Not forgetting Tasca Fandango, which is a traditional Spanish/Canarian restaurant and bar, or the Pool Barbecue, where you can enjoy delectable fresh Mediterranean lunches.

Hotel Jardín Tecina’s Spa Ahemon is a luxury open-air spa with heated pools and loungers, and a wellness centre where you can indulge in one of 19 massages, enjoy the steam bath or bithermal shower.

Golf Courses

Guests of the Hotel Jardín Tecina will not be able to resist a few rounds on Tecina Golf Course, designed by leading British architect Donald Steel, and situated below the hotel.

This 18-hole, par 71 course is the making of a magical golf break in the Canary Islands. Five minutes’ walk from the hotel, Tecina Golf boasts a fabulous design, jaw-dropping scenery and a championship course. Its hilltop position is just wonderful and offers a downhill challenge for even the most experienced golfer. A UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, Tecina Golf is surrounded by a cornucopia of native supurge cactus and tabaiba shrubs, and banana, avocado and mango trees. Whichever way you turn you are met with phenomenal views of the ocean or striking Mount Teide.
Tecina Golf has hosted many international tournaments, both for professionals and amateurs, such as the Fred Olsen Challenge of Spain between 2009 and 2016 and the AESGOLF International Senior Ladies’ Foursomes and Singles Championships since 2003, the year the course was opened.
