Hotel Riu Palace Tikida

This lovely extensive hotel is the only all inclusive option on our portfolio and is located on a remarkable piece of land in the heart of the best part of Agadir Beach close to the City Centre but in the middle of the main beach promenade and liveliest area for sun bathing in the summer months.

It is definitely the perfect location to enjoy the colourful exoticism of Morocco, the beach and the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The extensive gardens and pool areas stretch all the way down to the sea promenade and the beach beyond. The bedrooms at the Riu are special at 60 square metres – this is a very generous size for a big hotel, they are well appointed and stylish also, with a small lounge area beyond the bedroom with comfortable furniture. We would probably recommend the standard pool view or the ocean view rooms if you wish to upgrade.

The Riu is a big property with 446 bedrooms, but is impeccably managed, clean, with extremely professional staff, very polite and courteous. There is a brilliant animation programme too, which one would expect of a Riu 5 star beach property. The all inclusive food and beverage quality is fine, it is not as extensive as the 5 star resorts in Belek,, one would compare it with the Sirene Belek rather than Maxx Royal quality. The wine was good however and again worth noting that Moroccan wine is better than Turkish wine, the liquor in gin, vodka and whisky is mostly local brands but very drinkable and well tested. They have one Scottish whisky, one English gin and a Russian vodka.

When it comes to the restaurants the Riu Tikida has excellent buffets in two separate venues (one is close to the beach and has awesome sea views) and real quality fresh and varied cuisine.

The a la carte restaurants are included at nil supplement with Fish, Mexican, Italian options. Pre-booking these restaurants is straight forward indeed, compared to Turkish hotels.

The hotel is only 15 minutes from the superb courses of Ocean, Dunes and Soleil – 90 holes in total and just 35 minutes up to Tazgezout Golf, a Kyle Philips masterpiece.
