The K Club Hotel & Resort Highlights
Discover what makes the K Club Hotel & Resort special. Here are our personal highlights.
There is an impressive list of options to choose from at The K Club whether it be The River Room Restaurant for breakfast, elegant fine dining at The Barton Restaurant, an all-day casual menu at the Henry Lounge, European cuisine or traditional Sunday lunch at the Legends Restaurant, Thai/South East Asian cuisine at the K Thai Restaurant or classic bar food at The Straffan Inn – the resort owned and managed pub where resort guests and locals meet alike.
Good to know:
The Legends Restaurant, the Henry Lounge and the Straffan Inn all serve drinks late into the evening.
The K Club is home to a superb spa facility offering a range of quality treatments in a very relaxing setting. Guests will also find a well-equipped gym which is part of a 20,000 sq ft facility including a juice bar and Pilates room and an indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
Resort guests can make good use of the beautiful 550-acre Kildare countryside. Fishing, clay pigeon shooting, kayaking and horse-riding are just some of the activities available during your stay.
Golf Courses
In late 2006, The Ryder Cup Course at the K Club became Ireland’s first Ryder Cup venue. This is a stadium-style resort course, and at over 7,300 yards from the tips,
Palmer has created a magnificent test for golfers of all standards. The coverage and attention that has been brought to both The K Club and Irish golf in general is richly deserved, given the faultless display that the Ryder Cup course exhibited during the Ryder Cup matches.
The Palmer South Course is an extravagant creation, divided from the Palmer North Course by the River Liffey, which flows right through to Dublin. The layout can be characterised as an inland links, with much earth having been moved to create dune-like mounds at the edge of the fairways.
The drama of the experience at the Palmer South comes from the 14 acres of water that have been worked into the course. The course has a more rugged feel than its sister and the signature hole is the monster par-5 seventh, which measures in at 606 yards, and skirts a dramatic series of water cascades.
