Lisbon

The region stretches from the renowned and popular coastline of Estoril & Cascais, which lies 30 miles west of Lisbon airport and city where there are some amazing golden sandy beaches and impressive seaside resorts and harbours,like at Cascais itself. Close to the hills of Sintra, where there is a rich wealth of old castles and historic monuments, in the midst of wonderful forest and mountain scenery and just 5 kms inland from the coast you will find the great golf courses of Penha Longa, Oitavos Dunes and Quinta da Marinha. The two five star resorts are exceptional and at Penha Longa you have one of Europe’s finest hotels run by Ritz Carlton, back to its very best after its owners re-invested heavily into refurbishing the resort and now the golf course.

Heading north away from Lisbon, you will find the fabulous unspoilt scenery of towns like Obidos and Peniche which have such a wealth of culture and history and the incredible natural beauty of the coastline of Praia del Rey and the 600 hectares of natural dunes land on the Atlantic Ocean and there the great Marriott Praia del Rey Golf Resort, with its beachfront location and links course. Not far away is the revamped and extremely impressive Golden Eagle Golf Club, which will soon have its own hotel and resort style feel and the very new Donald Steel design Bom Successo.
