The Kenzi Menara is located in the Agdal district of Marrakech in the tourist area in the southern area of the City, pointedly in the area where all the new golf courses have sprung up.
This is a fine 5 star hotel with very affordable rates, it has amazing standard lead in premium rooms which have lots of space, rain shower and deep baths and sizeable balconies. The hotel has first class gardens, outdoor pool areas and a Moroccan, Italian and International Buffet restaurant and a well appointed spa.
The Kenzi does offer an all inclusive food & beverage option, but for dining out in Marrakech in top venues is amazing value for money and taxis are cheap as chips!
Samanah is one of the region’s most exclusive clubs, the moment you arrive and check in at the Clubhouse it is a special venue. Designed by Nicklaus Golf Design, the lay out particularly has a great back nine holes, the last 3 holes 16-18 all have water features to test one’s nerve. The greens and shot making are very challenging from start to finish and the course is kept in immaculate condition. Samanah is just 3 minutes from the Royal Palm Hotel and 10-15 from the Selman.
This is a new stylish course which opened in 2014, with an amazing Clubhouse opening in early 2015. The course has a fltter front nine and a more undulating back nine, it is a stadium style design with Moorish old fortifiations peppered around the course. There are 3 greens which are completely square and played over water, unique concepts here and there, the short par 4s are an excellent challenge (risk and reward holes). Destined to be an excellent track. Close to Kenzi Menara Palace.
Very close to the Kenzi Menara, Selman and Four Seasons Hotels this course opened in mid 2014 and has the best greens in the area, very fast and undulating and big, the short game here is tricky. The course is a stadium style design with some diffiult water holes. Buggy hire is probably recommended as there are some long walks from greens to tees. The Club has a very chic stylish clubhouse with 2 contrasting restaurants, offering Tapas or International Cuisine.
This is the furthest south of the courses in the Agdal region about 20 minutes away from hotels such as Royal Palm and Selman, it is also the most varied and natural design as it has been built on a more hilly piece of land with natural hills and valleys with elevated tees on most holes. There is also lots of natural vegetation, a lovely variety of tree species.
This Troon managed new course opens in March 2015 and is owned by the Palmeraie Palace Group. It is going to be the most dramatic and challenging and varied golf course in the Agdal region and certainly by October 2015 we are expecting to be sensational. Big greens, big fairways, desert carries, deep bunkers and elevated tees with decent changes of elevation, make it memorable. Buggy is mandatory and included in the green fee and you will receive courtesy transfers from Palmeraie Palace!
The oldest golf course in Marrakech and owned by the King of Morocco, located in the north-east region of Marrakech, located within a wonderful oasis of deciduous forest land – it is the most mature and picturesque parkland course in the area. All holes are tree-lined and well bunkered, a classic lay out. There are three nines and one nine has floodlights if you fancy playing at night. The golf course has a temporary clubhouse in 2015 as the old club is having a major refurbishment. 5 minutes from the Mandarin Oriental, 20 minutes from Palmeraie Palace. Caddies recommended.
