Le Telfair is one of Mauritius’s finest golf and spa resorts and was established in 2005, situated in the south side of the island in the charming district of Bel Ombre, where the sunsets are about as good as they can ever get, as the resorts faces almost due west, due to the contours of that piece of coastline.

The Bel Ombre district is undoubtedly the Islands most scenic, with large mountain ranges close to the coast and the amazing natural conservation park of Bel Ombre, where there is so much nature and wildlife on full display. It is an area which is unspoilt and undeveloped, its climate is different to the east coast, as it tends to be less hot in the summer time and thus more bearable with coastal breezes. Golf du Chateau, the hotels own golf course, is a special 18 hole design and was voted by our staff as the best all round golf course on the Island, for contrasting holes and scenery combined, plus it is rarely busy, thus you feel that more bit special. Located on higher land than the hotel ,but just 3 minutes transfer to the Clubhouse the course has panoramic views of the Bel Ombre mountains and the Ocean on the other side, it is stunning to the eye. Golf is free on a daily basis – a huge attraction.

Telfair is all about elegance, charm and superb service levels – it is a small and intimate property, with all facilities and beach areas all in close proximity, so very different to, for example, Le Touessrok or Le Paradis, which is a big advantage. The standard bedrooms are absolutely superb in terms of size and decor and are known as super river view doubles, we highly recommend ,however, a room upgrade to full sea view, rather than river, which only has a partial sea view. Whilst, the junior suites and Ocean suites are amazing all with full Ocean view of course. Private butlers are available for many room categories if you need them.

The Resort is unique in that is has a river running through it and this adds to its ambience, because Annabella’s restaurant terrace looks out over the water and the classy Asian restaurant is located at the mouth of the river. You can even canoe right up past reception along the river.
