This side of the Island has 3 golf courses including Le Telfair's very own Golf du Chateau, arguably the best and included in your daily room rates. However, if you fancy a change you can book the scenic Le Paradis at a reduced rate locally through hotel reception, just 15 minutes drive away, or alternatively you can go and play the superb Tamarina which is about 45 minutes transfer and is one of our favourites. Again no need to pre-book from the UK, just take advantage of the reduced rate via Telfair reception.
Voted by our staff as the Island's strongest golf course, Golf Du Chateau is the ultimate challenge from start to finish, depending of course, which tees you choose to play off. The course starts with a huge par 4 uphill to a raised green, which is so big and undulating, a two putt to start is job well done. Whilst the course climbs the hill all the way up the front nine, until about the 6th, when it starts to descend again back to the clubhouse, whilst the back nine are the same, starting with flat holes with water features and then building up to a crescendo from the 14th onwards, an amazing double dog leg up a steep hill to a raised green at the course's highest point. The last 4 holes are easily the best and all feature high elevated tees and great shot making across valleys. The 17th gets our vote as the best hole - stroke index 1. Whilst the 18th is a demanding tee shot into a big valley with water on both sides and in front of the green. Watch out for wild monkeys on the left side of the 7th fairway.
