Praslin is an island with a rich but only a relatively modern history. It is famous for its solitude and tranquillity, its unspoilt beaches and the famous May Valley which is like a jungle rain forest area ideal to visit on an excursion.
The main island in the Seychelles is Mahe and this is where you will find the international airport. There are regular daily flights from Mahe to Praslin, which is the island where Lemuria is located. This is just a 10 minute shuttle flight. The Seychelles are located in the western side of the Indian Ocean, parallel with mid Africa and not as far south as Mauritius, which is about 3 hours further. The Seychelles are 5 hours ahead of GMT.
