This brilliant 3.5 star resort is situated north of Phoenix and Scottsdale in the little township of Carefree, just 5 minutes drive away from Troon North Golf in a very desirable area for scenery and real estate. The resort is like a wild west ranch style hotel with fantastic views across the Sonoran Desert in all directions, you are in the midst of a wonderful desert, mountain environment. The rooms at the hotel are excellent for a 3 star and very spacious and all have balconies or patios overlooking the pool and cactus garden areas in the sheltered central section of the hotel. A great area to catch the Arizona sun rays and top up your tan in total tranquillity and a very relaxing environment.

The Carefree has a themed old western saloon bar which opens at certain times and the main bar off the lobby adjacent to the hotel has a good ambience and selection of liquor, whilst the hotel's restaurant is really good, the steaks and sea food here are first class and the service and staff is superb for what is only a 3 star property. The lobby and public areas have just benefitted from a major refurbishment and many of the rooms too have been upgraded and re-decorated.

The resort has a close proximity to the best golf in Arizona namely Troon North, Rancho Manana, Dove Valley Ranch, the Boulders and the Legend Trails courses to name a few. No golf holiday here would be complete without 1 or 2 rounds on the Troon North or Boulders courses; they are absolutely outstanding closely followed by the Grayhawk Talon and Raptor designs. Carefree is great value for money and well located, ideal for groups of male golfers who prefer to spend most of their budget on the very best golf courses and save quite a bit on the hotel expenses.
